Description

Amron International's new 350M BIBS mask is the perfect combination of performance, durability and comfort. The Amron 350M BIBS Mask was specifically designed to meet the rigorous Norsok U-101 breathing standard and has been successfully performance tested by NUI and validated by DNV. Unlike other BIBS on the market today, Amron's 350M BIBS Mask is built to withstand the extreme conditions found in a saturation diving environment.

The Amron 350M BIBS Mask demand regulator is fully adjustable to allow for easy breathing from surface decompression all the way down to 350 meters pressurized depth. Diver's comfort was a major consideration so the 350M BIBS Mask comes standard with a comfortable oral nasal and a supportive head strap.

For chamber depths over 99 feet of seawater, a secondary vacuum regulator must be installed (see Tescom Regulator (Part Number: 26-2912-282A). A hull-stop valve should be an integral part of the hyperbaric system; used as a safety device to shut down the vacuum should a pressure loss occur. The vacuum regulator allows the exhaled gases to be carried to the outside of the chamber thereby eliminating oxygen buildup or contamination of the chamber environment.

    How helpful was this information?

  • Can I overhaul my 350M BIBS Mask or do I have to send it back to Amron for service?

Yes, you can overhaul the 350M BIBS Mask. The user manual provides factory suggested procedures and instructions for operating, maintaining and servicing the Amron 350M BIBS Mask. Any service or maintenance performed on the 350M breathing system shall be done only by those facilities experienced in or by personnel knowledgeable in oxygen equipment.

    How helpful was this information?

  • Is the Amron 350M BIBS mask a replacement for the Avox Pressur-Vak II?

The Amron 350M BIBS mask was designed to be used at depths from 0 to 350 MSW. The Amron 350M BIBS is ideal for both hyperbaric chambers as well as mid-level SAT system depths.

The Avox Pressur-Vak II BIBS mask system has been commonly used in hyperbaric chambers to depths of up to 100 MSW for many years.  Amron is pleased to confirm that the Avox Pressur-Vak II will continue to be readily available from Amron for many years to come.

    How helpful was this information?

  • What certifications are included with the 350M BIBS mask?

Amron includes a serialized Certificate of Conformance with each BIBS mask. Additionally, NUI performed unmanned testing in accordance to NORSOK U-101:1999. The testing certificate was signed by both NUI and a DNV representative. The signed test certificate can be found in the attachment tab of this webpage under document titled 350M BIBS Mask Certificate.

    How helpful was this information?

  • Is the Amron 350M BIBS Mask ABS approved?

The ABS Rules for Building and Classing Underwater Vehicles, Systems and Hyperbaric Facilities 2002 does not require specific testing of the BIBS Mask. ABS requires a complete life support system test in accordance with the requirements of Section 8 of the Underwater Rules.

The Amron 350M was specifically designed to meet the rigorous Norsok U-101:1999 breathing standard and has been successfully performance tested by NUI and validated by DNV to operate to depths of 350 meters of seawater.

    How helpful was this information?

  • Can I use Nitrox with my BIBS mask?
Yes. The 350M and 450M BIBS mask was designed to be used with Oxygen, Breathing Quality Air, and Heliox. Nitrox being a mixture of oxygen and breathing quality air would also be an acceptable gas source.
    How helpful was this information?

  • My Amron BIBS mask is hard to breathe from despite having the mask adjustment screws set to the optimum setting?
Typically this is a sign that the supply pressure is set to low and should be increased to around 175 psi over your chamber pressure. Example: If your chamber is pressurized to 100 feet of seaward then the regulator on your high pressure oxygen bottle should be set to 219 psi (44 psi chamber pressure + 175 psi = 219 psi regulator output pressure).
    How helpful was this information?

  • Can I use my 350M BIBS mask for hyperbaric decompression?

Yes. The 350M BIBS Mask was designed to have an excellent work of breathing from 0 to 350 meters.

    How helpful was this information?

  • Is the AVOX 801804-00 First Stage Pressure Reducing Regulator compatible with the Amron 350M or 450M BIBS Mask?
    No.
    How helpful was this information?

  • Are the hose connections on the Amron BIBS mask the same as the Avox hose connections?

Yes, both the Amron and Avox BIBS Mask connect to same Hansen quick disconnects.  Amron part number 59853-00 for the exhaust quick disconnect and 18969-00 for the oxygen inlet.
