The brass barb is 2 inches long for maximum penetration into the hose and allows enough room to install two or three stainless bands. This item is manufactured by Amron to the highest standards.
The Amron AHB-60802 3/8 in. x #8 JIC Hose Barb is a brass, SAE J514 fitting with a 7/8 in. hex nut. It is intended to be used for 3/8 in. ID breathing hoses. The brass barb is 2.0 in. long for maximum penetration into the hose and allows enough room to install three Band-It JS2409 1/4 in. stainless steel band clamps.
