Amron recommends SaniZide Plus® as a convenient, fast-acting germicidal disinfectant. Gas sterilization can be used if close attention is paid to temperature, but multiple cycles of gas sterilization will shorten the working life of the product. Gas sterilization temperatures must be kept below 130 degrees F to avoid affecting the shape of the hood ring. See the FAQ tab on this web page for additional information about gas sterilization. Amron International’s Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment Hood (Helmet) Assembly with untrimmed latex neck seal, neck ring with O-ring, and multi-purpose port is the leading oxygen hood on the market and easily sets the standard for all others.
Amron’s hood assembly is a two-piece, multi-patient, reusable device for administering gas, oxygen, air, and humidification to a patient for Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) applications. The hood was designed for both patient comfort and attendant ease of use. The device can be used for adults, children, and infants under the supervision of professional healthcare staff.
The two-piece design allows the attendant to quickly and safely remove the hood from the neck ring assembly without disturbing the patient or the supply, exhaust, and access lines, allowing full access to the patient.
Amron’s unique hood locking system successfully performs to maximum pressures of 40 cm H2O. The built-in locking system acts as safety feature that protects the user by allowing the hood and neck rings to separate at pressures above 40 cm H2O.
The hood is removable and comprised of a clear medical-grade and phthalate-free vinyl with an optical quality viewing window for unmatched clarity. The large oblong-shaped neck ring opening makes it easy for the attendant to place over any patients head regardless of size.
The reusable neck ring was designed as the heart of the system and has conveniently located gas supply and exhaust ports and a multi-purpose access port, as well as an O-ring seal for the vinyl hood attachment. The supply and exhaust ports are strategically located to allow for optimum gas circulation, lower CO2 pooling, reduced noise levels, patient cooling, and automatic defogging of the optical quality viewing window. The neck ring is solid to eliminated potential bacteria from being trapped inside and was developed to withstand multiple cycles in an autoclave, gas sterilization, and germicidal disinfectants.
Amron’s medical grade silicone neck seal is the best performing in the market with the ultimate in stretch, comfort, tear resistance, and durability. The base of the neck seal is thicker with dual square rings that securely interlock with the neck ring while the material is thinner at the top for patient comfort. The unique design allows the neck seal to be removed and replaced without having to purchase a new hood. The neck seal has integrated, pre-sized trim lines that correspond to the patient neck size to ensure a proper fit every time.

FAQ's
No, we currently only offer this one size.
Yes.
Amron has not performed any testing to determine whether or not you can use this type of process to sterilize our Oxygen Treatment Hood. Amron recommends using SaniZide Plus as a convenient, fast-acting intermediate level germicidal disinfectant, cleaner, and deodorizer.
No. Amron recommends SaniZide Plus as a convenient, fast-acting intermediate level germicidal disinfectant, cleaner and deodorizer. SaniZide Plus is delivered ready to use and requires no mixing.
Adjust all the appropriate flow control devices between 25-50 liters per minute. As the hood inflates, adjust the supply and exhaust flow controls to stabilize the hood pressure.
NOTE: Excessive flow will overinflate the hood, and insufficient flow will collapse the hood. Flow rates will vary with chamber delivery systems, user lung volume, and breathing rate. Proper Oxygen and Carbon Dioxide levels should be verified within the hood through the multi-purpose port and the use of an Oxygen analyzer and Carbon Dioxide analyzer such as the Analox SDA Series O2 and CO2 analyzers or Analox Sub Aspida O2/CO2 monitors
We only have two methods approved for cleaning.
1) The first is spraying Sanizide and letting the hood sit for 10 minutes.
2) The second is gas sterilization using the method below:
- Low - 4 hours at 100 degrees Fahrenheit with an aeration time of 36 hours
- High - 1 hour at 130 degrees Fahrenheit with an aeration time of 12 hours
Using the gas sterilization will shorten the life of the hood but we have many customers that use it and are very happy with the results.
