Amron has reintroduced its AGA full face mask communications set that now includes a newly designed submersible bone phone for increased performance and durability.

The Amron International 1406A Bone Conducting Earphone and Microphone with 4-Pin WP Connector communications set is for use with the Interspiro AGA MK20 full face mask. The integrated 1406-2 bone conducting earphone can be held in place behind your ear or on your temple with a diving hood or headband. When paired with an Amron communicator, this AGA comm set offers superior sound quality and durability.

The assembly includes the newly designed, submersible 1406-2 bone phone earphone, a male 4-pin RMG waterproof connector, a splash-proof, integrated dynamic microphone assembly and an AGA mask mic plate. The assembly is wired as a Type A with pins 1 & 2 for microphone and pins 3 & 4 for earphone. For wiring details, please see the diagram in “Resources” section.

The Amron 1406A bone conducting earphone and microphone with waterproof connector is a communications set for use with Interspiro AGA full face masks. The assembly includes a submersible bone conducting earphone, a male 4-pin RMG waterproof connector, and a splashproof dynamic microphone assembly on an AGA mask mic plate.

 

The earphone is an Amron 1406-2 submersible bone conducting earphone. It is a solid-molded, waterproof earphone containing a sensitive bone-conducting transducer that provides clear diver comms. It can be held in place behind the ear or on the temple with a diving hood or headband. When paired with an Amron communicator, this waterproof earphone offers superior sound quality and durability. This same earphone is also integrated with other Amron comm sets such as the 1406A-03 and BP-44MM-03.

 

The microphone consists of an AGA mic plate assembly wired to an Amron 1408 milspec M-101/AIC dynamic microphone with an Amron 1414 splashproof boot.

 

A 4-pin male RMG-4-MP Marsh Marine connector is provided for mating with the female RMG-4-FS connectors used on most umbilical communications cables. This is a neoprene molded connector with gold plated contacts and an 18 AWG SJOOW cable rated to 300 VDC.

 

The assembly is wired as a Version A comm set with pins 1 & 2 for microphone and pins 3 & 4 for earphone. For wiring details, please see the diagram attachment on the resources tab.

How many protective rubber covers part number 1414 do I use on my 1406 A/B Communications Assembly?

How do I secure the Bone Phone on my 1406A/B Communications Assembly to my AGA mask?

The easiest location to secure the Bone Phone to the AGA mask is to place the bone phone under one of the head harness straps toward the center area of the harness. Place the Bone Phone between your head and the head harness and tighten down the 5 straps of the head harness.

Can I replace my 1406 A/B microphone with an OTS Hot Mic or Super Mic?
No. The OTS microphone connection is different and cannot connect to the 1406 A/B microphone post.
Is the microphone on 1406 A/B Communications Assembly waterproof?

No, we use two protective rubber covers to prevent any water from entering and damaging the microphone. If you happen to damage the protective rubber cover and need to purchase replacements please order part number 1414.

How can I tell the difference between the 1406A and 1406B Comm Assembly?

The 1406B Comm Assembly has a red ban around the SO cable to identify it as a vesion "B" Comm Assembly.
