To eliminate background noise at the surface, we recommend purchasing the 2405-28 Push-to-Talk Microphone (not included with this model). For optimum communications, it is recommended to use the 2401-28 Deluxe Headset with Boom Mic, topside. For tender maneuverability, use the 2401-28 Deluxe Headset with Boom Mic along with the 2822-28 Remote Walk-and-Talk (4-wire mode) or the 2821-28 Remote Walk-and-Talk (2-wire mode). For wireless tender communications, order the 2825A-03 Two Diver Deluxe Portable Communicator with built-in Wireless Tender option. ENHANCEMENTS
Ultra-low noise, wide band width amplifier circuit combined with noise suppression circuitry produces crystal clear speech. The amplifier’s Automatic Gain Control (AGC) circuit prevents audio signal distortion and enhances speaker protection and audio quality.
The audio amplifier card deploys a state-of-the-art, Class-D digital audio power amplifier. It has very low power dissipation, generates minimal heat, and enhances battery life.
EMI is minimized through spread-spectrum and de-phase control techniques, providing for optimum integration with diving systems.
This Amron exclusive feature allows each diver to use either a dynamic or pre-amplified microphone.
Weather resistant, IP65 rated AC power entry module accommodates country specific AC power cords.
At time of order, simply choose the IP54 rated locking AC power cord you need.
Amron’s case is universal for all AMCOM™ series portable communicators and can be purchased separately, with or without a power entry module, should it need to be replaced.

Amron’s AMCOM™ II Model 2820A-11 Two-Diver, Basic Portable Communicator is a full-featured communicator with a single volume control for both diver’s volumes and a separate volume control for the tender. The 2820A-11 supports 2-wire and 4-wire (full duplex) modes. Both modes can be used at the same time.
The tender can use the 2820A-11 communicator with the built-in panel microphone and speaker, an optional hand-held, push-to-talk microphone, or an optional headset plugged directly into the front panel or into an optional walk and talk module for extra mobility. For the best user audio performance, use a headset for high quality, full duplex communications. All tender comms connections are made using dual banana jacks.
Diver comm cables are connected using the earphone and microphone dual banana jack binding posts on the front panel. The binding posts are labeled to indicate how to connect when using 2-wire or 4-wire comms. 2-wire or 4-wire connections can be used by either diver simultaneously.
Only Amron’s AMCOM™ series communicators offer Microphone Auto Detection that automatically identifies the type of microphone each diver is using and dynamically adjusts for optimum performance. This Amron exclusive feature makes it possible to use either dynamic or pre-amplified microphones in either 2-wire or 4-wire modes and ensures high audio quality regardless of the microphone type used.
To interface with other products used to monitor and record dive operations, an audio output tape recorder jack (RCA) is provided on the front panel. All communications between the tender and divers are output to the jack.
The 2820A-11 comes with an internal charger and can be operated using 90-264 VAC external power, the internal 12 VDC sealed lead acid battery, or an external 12 VDC power source plugged into the front panel power jacks. The front panel has a battery condition LED and an AC power LED.
AMCOM™ series portable communicators are supplied with a rugged, weatherproof case with an outdoor, weather resistant, IP65 rated AC power entry module located on the case, and a detachable, locking, IP54 rated AC power cord configured for the country of your choice at the time of ordering. Amron’s signature safety yellow case is universal for all AMCOM™ series portable communicators and can be purchased separately should it need to be replaced.
