Designed to be small and compact for confined underwater working conditions and medium-duty chipping, the Stanley Hydraulic Underwater Chipping Hammer CH18 accepts standard 0.58-inch round collar steels and chipper tool bits. The Stanley Hydraulic Underwater Chipping Hammer CH18 is designed to run off an HTMA type II hydraulic circuit.

Designed for heavy-duty underwater operations, it can be used by commercial divers in any position.

The Stanley CH18311 Chipper is a compact, hydraulic-powered underwater chipping hammer used for medium chipping of concrete, masonry, and rock.

The ergonomic ”D“ handle with inside trigger prevents accidental operation of the tool. The handle is Plastisol coated for diver comfort. The CH18 has a slide latch design tool bit retainer that will accept .580 hex shank, round collar tool bits. Painted hi-visibility yellow.

What is the large threaded hole on the opposite side of the hose whips and trigger mechanism for on the CH18 Chipping Hammer?

It’s for an assist handle but the assist handle is no longer available.

Will my tool operate if I use a lower flow rate than what would be considered optimum for the tool to operate?

Yes, most tools have an optimal flow range, as long as the gallons per minute delivered to the tool is within this range the tool will work. However, please be award that the tool will run at a slower speed based on the flow rated delivered to the tool. Basically, the lower the gallons per minute the slower the tool will run.

Do any of the Stanley hydraulic tools ship full of hydraulic oil?

No, but the factory normally will leave a little fluid inside the tool to help lubricate the internal components during storage.
