Essential Job Functions

  • Receives all incoming shipments from UPS, FedEx, DHL and USPS.  
  • Assembles and prepares orders for shipment using proper packaging guidelines as listed in departmental procedures.
  • Accurately pulls parts and exact quantities as listed on sales order; stages the order to await packing list and invoicing.
  • Ensures accuracy on incoming receipts; compares quantity from packing slip to purchase order and inspects items for damages.
  • Maintains inventory control and accuracy through daily/weekly cycle counts; accurately stocks and rotates inventory in accordance with departmental procedures.
  • Retrieves supplies, inventory, and other materials by use of material handling equipment such as a forklift or pallet jack.
  • Follows all organizational standards and departmental processes and procedures to ensure safety, conformance to regulatory requirements, customer satisfaction and accurate inventory.
  • Drives company van for local pick-up and delivery of supplies or parts.

 

Additional Job Duties

  • Breaks down cardboard boxes for recycling
  • Maintains a safe and clean work environment; including sweeping out warehouse, dust shelving, and take out warehouse trash.

 

Minimum Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a warehouse environment operating/driving a forklift, pallet jack, and other material handling equipment.

 

Physical Demands

Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs.; repetitive lifting is required at times.  Sitting, standing, and walking are required throughout the day.

 

Working Conditions

Warehouse area is subject to hot and cold temperature extremes and is frequently quite loud due to machinery and equipment use.

Special Conditions of Employment

Occasional overtime may be required.  A satisfactory driving record, employee driving agreement, van training and certification, and verification of a valid driver’s license will be required to receive approved van driver status.  All new employees are subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.

Beneficial Knowledge to Have

  • Microsoft Navision (NAV);
  • Shipping software platforms (UPS Worldship, FedEx Ship Manager, DHL Easyship, United States Postal Service);
  • LTL/FTL freight processing;
  • International freight shipping through freight forwarders;
  • Dangerous goods/hazardous materials training for handling and shipping.
  • Quality inspection of items using calipers and other measuring devices.
  • Prior experience working in an ISO regulated environment desired but not required.
