<![CDATA[Wounded Soldiers Fight Back with SCUBA Careers]]> http://www.amronintl.com/blog/wounded-soldiers/ British soldier Brad Hughes was returning from a patrol in a fortified vehicle known as a Viking when it drove over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED). The huge blast ripped through the vehicle, severely injuring him.

Miraculously he survived, but suffered six fractures and a dislocation to his right foot. More than three years later, he is still receiving treatment.

Brad and his close friend and dive buddy Peter Wesley fought through their injuries, and eventually became British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC) Open Water SCUBA instructors. Now they are being celebrated for their outstanding achievements and perseverance!

<![CDATA[New DNB Designed for Special Forces]]> http://www.amronintl.com/blog/dnb-military-feedback/ Sometimes our engineers start creating new products with a special market in mind. In the case of the Amron International DNB Diver Navigation Board, it was the Special Forces.

Before we started engineering work, we consulted with and got feedback from U.S. Navy SEAL team members, the Naval Diving and Salvage Training Center in Florida, and other military combat swimmers to see exactly what they wanted and what sort of improvements could be made to the Navigation Boards that were already on the market. Using their direct input, we set out to build a better board.

The DNB features engineering improvements like the wider console that allows swimmers better access to their timer functions.

Special Forces swimmers go where they are ordered to, and sometimes that means navigating frigid water conditions requiring 5mm or 7mm gloves. The new Amron DNB provides more space around the right side of the watch and gives thickly gloved hands complete freedom to push the “start/stop” and “split/reset” buttons.

Another design improvement was the addition of an injection-molded chemical light holder affixed with brass screws that creates a clean, more finished look.

And for those divers who don’t want or need a complete DNB Diver Navigation Board, we offer additional options at lower prices. For the navigation board with a compass only, the price drops to $370. For the navigation board only, the price is $157.
