Debra Ritchie is the President of Amron International and has worked for the company for over 26 years, the last 9 years as President. Her prior endeavors include Operations, Sales and Accounting, and being a Certified Public Accountant with the State of California. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from California State University with a B.S. in Business and is currently enrolled in the Masters of Science Executive Leadership program at University of San Diego.
Amron International is a full line distributor and manufacturer of general purpose and professional-grade diving, tactical, and hyperbaric equipment. Amron sells to deepsea divers, U.S. military special operations commands, search and rescue teams, hyperbaric technicians, and outdoor enthusiasts, to list a few. Amron is proud to have many repeat customers from all areas of the world for over three decades. This is due in part to the strong philosophies put in place by Debra's mother, Amron's founder Norma Ockwig, on the first day of business. Debra believes strongly in her mother's philosophies that providing consistently high levels of customer service, building trusting relationships, being responsive, and maintaining financial stability makes good business sense. Amron has a strong track record of increasing revenues and strong earnings. Under Debra's guidance, Amron has established itself as a leader in the industry with a strong reputation for integrity and service. Her leadership has allowed Amron to be a longstanding government contractor with many departments of the military and other government agencies. Amron was awarded the "Vendor Excellence Award" in 2002 for small woman-owned business from the Defense Logistics Agency. Debra has built a strong management team which allows Amron to thrive in a competitive industry.
Debra Ritchie is an excellent example of a woman who has established herself in a government/military industry and has proven herself to be a strong business person. She is one of a growing number of women who are making in-roads in historically men dominated industries and proving that gender has no barriers. Debra's leadership of Amron deserves recognition and should be a strong inspiration to other women who are poised for other leadership roles in business.
