The Avox Pressur-Vak II offered by Amron International is designed to administer oxygen or gas mixtures to a diver or patient in a hyperbaric chamber environment. The Avox Pressur-Vak II demand regulator assembly provides breathing gas on demand (inhalation). The Avox Pressur-Vak II regulator is designed to operate with a constant inlet pressure of 65 to 125 psig over chamber pressure.
For chamber depths over 60 FSW, a secondary vacuum regulator must be installed (see Tescom Regulator 26-2912-282A). A hull-stop valve should be an integral part of the system as a safety device to shut down the vacuum should a pressure loss occur. The optional Avox Pressur-Vak II pressure reducing regulator is a small reliable regulator assembly with an oxygen coupling. The vacuum regulator allows the exhaled gases to be carried to the outside of the chamber thereby eliminating oxygen buildup or contamination of the chamber environment. The vacuum of the exhaled gas is a direct function of the differential pressure of the chamber and the ambient environment.

Can the AVOX Pressur-Vak II hoses and diaphragms be cleaned using a sterilizing machine? The sterilizing machine operates at 212°F (100°C).
The AVOX Pressur-Vak II mask was not designed to be cleaned by a sterilizing machine. We recommend using SaniZide-Plus to disinfect your AVOX Inhalator. You can also clean all metal and non-metal parts with nonionic detergent such as “Ivory Liquid” and warm water (110 °F maximum). Rinse with clear water and dry completely before storing or using.
The information provided should be used as a guideline only. Every company should have their own procedures in place for cleaning and/or disinfecting safety equipment used in oxygen and breathing environments.

What material is the oral nasal made of?
The oral nasal faceseal is made of silicone.

Is the female side of the quick disconnect included with the Pressur-Vak II BIBS mask?
Yes.

What is the depth rating of the Pressur-Vak II?
As many of you know, the Pressur-Vak II has been in the industry since the late 1960's / early 1970's. This BIBS system has been used worldwide at a variety of depths. It was tested and is approved on the Approved for Military Use (AMU) list by the US Navy. However, there is no official documentation to support a "rated" depth. Amron recommends the Avox Pressur-Vak II to perform at depths up to 100 Meters of Sea Water (MSW).
If your situation requires testing certifications or DNV approval, we recommend the Amron 350M and 450M BIBS Masks. Both masks have been tested and certified by NUI to depths of 350 MSW and 450 MSW respectively.

Are the hose connections on the Amron BIBS mask the same as the Avox hose connections?
Yes, both the Amron and Avox BIBS Mask connect to same Hansen quick disconnects. Amron part number 59853-00 for the exhaust quick disconnect and 18969-00 for the oxygen inlet.
