The Avox 803139-00-XX Pressur-Vak II is designed to administer oxygen or gas mixtures to a diver or patient in a hyperbaric chamber environment. The demand regulator assembly provides breathing gas on demand (inhalation). The regulator is designed to operate with a constant inlet pressure of 65 to 125 psig over chamber pressure.

For chamber depths over 60 FSW, a secondary vacuum regulator must be installed (see Tescom Regulator 26-2912-282A). A hull-stop valve should be an integral part of the system as a safety device to shut down the vacuum should a pressure loss occur. The optional Avox Pressur-Vak II pressure reducing regulator is a small reliable regulator assembly with an oxygen coupling. The vacuum regulator allows the exhaled gases to be carried to the outside of the chamber thereby eliminating oxygen buildup or contamination of the chamber environment. The vacuum of the exhaled gas is a direct function of the differential pressure of the chamber and the ambient environment.

The Avox 803139-00-XX Pressur-Vak II comes complete with First Stage Regulator Assembly, Dual Demand and Exhaust Hose Assembly with Plugs and Quick Disconnects, Demand Regulator Assembly and Exhaust Regulator Assembly.

Warning: The Pressur-Vak II is designed for surface decompression in a recompression chamber and is not intended for underwater use. It may also be used for other applications which require overboard discharge of exhaled gas.

  • What is the depth rating of the Pressur-Vak II?

    As many of you know, the Pressur-Vak II has been in the industry since the late 1960's / early 1970's.  This BIBS system has been used worldwide at a variety of depths.  It was tested and is approved on the Approved for Military Use (AMU) list by the US Navy.  However, there is no official documentation to support a "rated" depth.  The Avox Pressur-Vak II BIBS Mask should not be used at depths beyond 100 Meters of Sea Water (MSW).

    If your situation requires testing certifications or DNV approval, we recommend the Amron 350M and 450M BIBS Masks. Both masks have been tested and certified by NUI to depths of 350 MSW and 450 MSW respectively.

  • Can the AVOX Pressur-Vak II hoses and diaphragms be cleaned using a sterilizing machine? The sterilizing machine operates at 212°F (100°C).

    The AVOX Pressur-Vak II mask was not designed to be cleaned by a sterilizing machine. We recommend using SaniZide-Plus to disinfect your AVOX Inhalator. You can also clean all metal and non-metal parts with nonionic detergent such as “Ivory Liquid” and warm water (110 °F maximum). Rinse with clear water and dry completely before storing or using.

  • Are the hose connections on the Amron BIBS mask the same as the Avox hose connections?

    Yes, both the Amron and Avox BIBS Mask connect to same Hansen quick disconnects.  Amron part number 59853-00 for the exhaust quick disconnect and 18969-00 for the oxygen inlet.
